We, Savanna Shackleford & Gabi Rae, co-founded Haggard Films to produce our first short film in Colorado. Savanna has her B.A. in Film Studies and Screenwriting Certificate from NYU. Gabi is a Trademark and Copyright Attorney and a working actor. Our skills, brought together, make for a powerhouse production effort. We're excited for this next chapter in our lives as we navigate what it really means to press on the gas and bring a film to life. Stay tuned as we reignite our creative flame and hold this story close to our hearts for the next few months.

Two old friends embark on a cross-country bike trip in an attempt to find something they lost on their journeys to adulthood, one state at a time.

Call for crowdfunding
This film is fully self-funded while we apply for grants and look for financiers. The girls behind Haggard Films dream of making an impact on the world through stories. While we've had the seed growing to make a short film, we never thought it was possible. But 'can't never did anything' so we're saying 'yes' to justing doing it.We're hoping to raise as close to $3000 dollars as we can through crowdfunding and grants to make this film come to life. While we are still going forward with making the film, any amount of money is helping us pay for equipment costs, marketing, distribution, festival fees, grant application fees, props/set, crafty, paying our actors and crew, etc.We want this story, and our story, to inspire other women to remember their dreams and pursue them despite the odds. Help us spread this message so that we can continue to do this type of work and tell the stories of people who don't always get to see themselves on screen.
Meet the haggard girls
Gabi and Sav met four years ago through Gabi's husband when Sav moved to Colorado with her wife. The two became fast friends, bonding over sports, games, hobbies, but above all else, creativity and a deep understanding of the world and of people. As little girls they practiced Oscar's speeches in the mirror, sang in the shower, and dreamed of telling stories one day. This is a big step toward that dream. Follow along as they realize they have always had what it takes, and now they're really doing it.
FUture Showings & Premiere
We plan on hosting a premiere watch party sometime in 2026. Stay tuned! The event will seek to activate the community, bring women and queer folx together, and celebrate cinema in Colorado!
